Plas Newydd is a National Trust property on the island of Anglesey. The National Trust is a charity which conserves and manages property throughout England for the nation. As their catchphrase says "for everyone, forever".

Anyone can visit either by paying an entry fee or taking out a membership. Membership is very economical as you can visit any number of places throughout the year as often as you like.

The grounds of Plas Newydd occupy a fairly steep sloping site that runs to the edge of the Menai Straits. One of the most popular features is the Italianate Gardens with its terraced lawns, spectacular borders and water features.

A shaped pond is the central feature of the main lawn, backed by a dry stone wall on trhe next terrace and an intricate gazebo on the following level.

Grey Squirrels have been removed from Anglesey and many woodland sites on the island are Red Squirrel Sanctuaries. Plas Newydd is no exception and is actively encouraging and supporting this native squirrel.
